The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple is pleased to announce the return of Curtain Call, a project-based fundraiser that was introduced in 2023 to support the cost of fabricating an installing a new curtain in our Grand Ballroom, which was completed in late 2024.  Throughout the years, Curtain Call raised much-needed funds for theatre restoration and improvement projects, including microphone and lighting upgrades, which largely benefitted our Youth Theatre Program.  Last year’s project assisted in the purchase and installation of a new, state-of-the-art sound system for the Weinberg Theatre. This year, we’ll focus on energy efficient lighting improvements to our main stage.

This fun, innovative event hosted in our Grand Ballroom will feature live music (Daddy-O and the Sax Maniax, Ken McGraw and the SCC Youth Theatre Program) and plenty of time to mix and mingle while offering a delicious selection of catered heavy hors d’oeuvre by Constantino’s Catering and a premium open bar.

Celebrated as the largest Nutcracker production in North America, this breathtaking holiday spectacular features an international cast of world-class dancers, gravity-defying acrobatics, magnificent costumes, and towering puppetry. Set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score, the production transforms the stage into a vivid, immersive celebration of the season.

Now in its 34th year, the tour continues to reach audiences in more than 80 cities annually, captivating over a quarter-million attendees each season. Presented by Talmi Entertainment, the production has become a defining holiday tradition for families across the country.

A signature highlight of the performance is Act II’s “Land of Peace and Harmony,” featuring the awe-inspiring Dove of Peace adagio — a powerful visual expression of unity, beauty, and shared humanity that distinguishes this production from traditional interpretations.

“The scale of this production is something audiences don’t expect — it’s immersive, emotional, and truly memorable,” said Dan Talmi, Producer of Talmi Entertainment. “Families come for the spectacle, but they return year after year because of how it makes them feel.”

Beyond the stage, the production maintains a strong commitment to arts education and community engagement through their flagship “Dance with Us” program. Through partnerships with local dance studios in each tour market, thousands of young dancers are invited each year to participate in workshops and performance opportunities alongside the international cast.

Renowned for its Broadway-level production quality, NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet collaborates with a global network of designers, artisans, and puppeteers to create a visually rich and imaginative world. From intricate costumes to larger-than-life characters, every detail is designed to deliver a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience.
