It is the mission of The Scranton Cultural Center’s Youth Theatre Program to provide a quality education in the creative and performing arts to young children and teens in an environment that honors achievement, creativity and personal growth. Our goal is to nurture and inspire a lifelong love and appreciation of the creative and performing arts by engaging youth in enriching theatrical opportunities. The SCC offers opportunities for local children to participate in Fall and Spring theatrical productions as well as our performing arts summer camp program.

In addition, campers will help build set pieces and props, and select costume pieces to be used in the show! They’ll be joined by the Little Dragon campers to perform this grand finale of our 2016 Summer Camp.

Piper Kerman, whose memoir “Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison” inspired the award-winning Netflix series “Orange is the New Black,” is the next speaker at the Matthew F. ARTS Engage!
Dance Class for all ages
The Scranton Cultural Center is thrilled to be hosting the ARTS Engage program funded by Lackawanna County! This program includes FREE arts-based classes to students of all ages in the Lackawanna County area.
Our classes for this Fall will include Dance, Visual Arts and Theatrical Costuming! These programs will be offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings throughout the Fall and will be held at the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple.
