Casting Workshops for The Addams Family School Edition – an SCC Youth Theatre Program Production

Open to performers in Grades 5th through 12th*!

The Addams Family School Edition, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family! Wednesday Addams, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family–a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before–keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

CASTING WORKSHOP DATES:

Monday, October 2, 6-8:30pm OR

Tuesday, October 3, 6-8:30pm

Please select one of the casting workshop dates to attend. Actors are not expected to prepare anything; they will be taught materials from the show to audition with! Please note that registration guarantees a role in the production!

PERFORMANCE DATES:

Friday, January 19 at 7pm

Saturday, January 20 at 7pm

Sunday, January 21 at 2pm

School Performance: Monday, January 22 at 10am

TENTATIVE REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:

Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, 6pm- 8:30pm. Not all students will be called for each evening of rehearsal.

TUITION: $365/ student

DEPOSITS: A NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT of $25 PER SESSION must be submitted to reserve your spot on the roster. You will be invoiced for the remaining balance. Your deposit will be applied to your tuition balance.

ENROLLMENT FEE: There is a one-time, non-refundable ENROLLMENT FEE of $25 for all first-time students.

Upon registering, you will receive a Parent Handbook and Medical/ Emergency Forms which MUST be completed by the start of rehearsals.

Underground Microphone is BACK live and IN PERSON! Every month, we’ll showcase one solid act who has been touring, recording new material, starting new projects or telling new stories. Join us every first Tuesday of the month for the coolest, most chill vibe in NEPA! As always, there is no cover charge to enjoy the entertainment. Cash bar with drink specials available to those 21+. Doors will open at 6:30 PM and the show starts at 7 PM.

Thrill the World Dance Lessons

Calling all zombie dancers! It’s time to learn the Thriller dance for Thrill the World on October 28! In our two-hour dance classes, we’ll learn the entire dance from start to finish! All ages and experience levels are welcome.

Dance Lesson Schedule

Saturday, October 7 – 1 PM to 3 PM
Wednesday, October 11 – 6 PM to 8 PM
Thursday, October 19 – 6 PM to 8 PM
Saturday, October 21 – 1 PM to 3 PM
Thursday, October 26 – 6 PM to 7 PM
(Please note: the dance class on 10/26 is an advanced class to serve as a refresher for dancers who have participated before!)

Participants may also to learn the dance at home via the step-by-step Thrill the World Tutorials on YouTube! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heEFEOfAn4k) There are in-depth breakdowns of each section of choreography available so that anyone can learn the dance at any time, ANYWHERE – even at home. We will have a few opportunities to rehearse the dance before the official dance at 6 PM on October 29. Remember – Thrill the World is open to dancers of all skill levels. The most important thing is to HAVE FUN!
