She writes books about misfits and nerds, or people who feel like misfits and nerds, and how find their way through life — cracking each other up and falling in love. Rainbow’s books are international bestsellers and award winners. But they’re hard to categorize. She writes books about teenagers that adults read. And books about adults that teens read.
She is the author of this year’s community book for “On the Same Page in Lackawanna County.” Sign up at your local library to get a free book and join in a discussion of it. Then, see Rainbow Rowell in person!

Adriana Trigiani’s bestselling novel Big Stone Gap was turned it into a feature film in 2014, but its run here in Lackawanna County was short.
Now, thanks to Ms. Trigiani’s generosity, local fans will get another chance to see the romantic comedy starring Naomi Judd, Whoopi Goldberg, Patrick Wilson, and Jenna Elfman. The author, who also directed the film, offered it to the Lackawanna County Library System for an exclusive one-time showing.
As a bonus for those attending the movie, Ms. Trigiani will address the audience and answer questions via Skype from her home in New York City.
