This event includes a series of arts and culture based workshops in topics like Classical Indian Dance, Visual Arts, Storytelling and African Dance! This FREE event also includes lunch for all participants and a special performance by the presenting teaching artists to bring the event to a close! This event is designed for all ages and families are encouraged to participate together! Children under the age of 12 must be registered with an accompanying adult. Spots are limited, so don’t delay to register!

Due to the nature of live event bookings all performances, dates, times and prices are subject to change without notice.
Buyer Beware: If you purchase tickets from a non-authorized person or outlet, you risk purchasing a lost, stolen or fake ticket that is not valid for admittance, regardless of the event. Only valid tickets will scan to authorize entry for an event. Lost or stolen tickets may be deactivated and thus will not be valid for entry. When you visit the theatre, our first priority is your care and safety. To that end, please be aware in advance of increased security measures for all events at our Theatre. Backpacks, oversized bags, outside food and beverage, and weapons of any kind are not permitted in the building. Also, upon entry, bags and coats must be open and ready for inspection by our security team. Thank you for your cooperation!

Thrill the World is a global fundraising event, held on the same date/time around the world in attempt to break the World Record for the “Largest Simultaneous Dance to Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller!'” Sign up TODAY to be a zombie dancer and participate in one of the most exciting events in Scranton! All proceeds benefit the Scranton Cultural Center!

Registration: $20 Zombie Dancer Registration Fee (all ages) – Includes access to all dance lessons and event participation.

Please note: The dance lesson on 10/26 is an advanced lesson that serves as a refresher course for prior dancers. We will just be running the dance as many times as we can within that hour.

(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=heEFEOfAn4k) There are in-depth breakdowns of each section of choreography available so that anyone can learn the dance at any time, ANYWHERE – even at home. We will have a few opportunities to rehearse the dance before the official record-breaking attempt. Remember – Thrill the World is open to dancers of all skill levels. The most important thing is to HAVE FUN!
Day of the Event:
The event will be held OUTSIDE of the Scranton Cultural Center, located at 420 N. Washington Avenue in Scranton, PA. We will convene beginning at 5:00 PM. On the day of the event, participants are encouraged to come in their best zombie or Halloween inspired look, but it’s not required. You’ll check in with the SCC team (for reporting purposes) and we’ll have a few opportunities to practice the dance before the official world record attempt. The dance will be live-streamed on the Scranton Cultural Center Facebook page, so please encourage family and friends to cheer you on from home.

The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic is pleased to announce Curtain Call, a new, project-based fundraiser, designed to support the cost of fabricating and installing a new curtain in our Grand Ballroom. The current drapery was installed in the early 1990s and was designed and fabricated by MTL Inc., located in Jessup, PA. We are excited to be working with MTL once again for this project, but substantial funds are needed to complete the design, fabrication and installation as well as upgrades to the operating tracks and mechanisms. Curtain Call aims to raise these much needed funds with a fun, innovative event hosted in the Grand Ballroom. Entertainment will be provided by Picture Perfect Band, Daddy-o and the Sax Maniax and Ken McGraw, with a special appearance by the extremely talented young performers of the SCC Youth Theatre Program. We’ll also host a silent auction while offering a delicious selection of heavy hors d’oeuvres from Constantino’s Catering and a premium open bar.
