This year, “the Menu” will return for its Fifth Season  Local, Fresh and Delicious!

 “the Menu,” hosted in the Grand Ballroom, features culinary creations prepared by local chefs throughout NEPA.  Many interesting and exciting topics will be covered like what to buy at the farmer’s market; tips for Holiday meals made easy or planning the perfect cocktail and cheese pairing for your next party!

“the Menu” will provide you with fresh and exciting ideas to try in your kitchen any night of the week as well as festive concepts for special occasions!  Come see what’s on “the Menu” – it’s certain to be local, fresh and most importantly…DELICIOUS!

We would like to welcome to the stage, this year’s guest host, Stephanie Longo, from the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce.

Cocktail hour 6pm Show -7pm – with musical guest, Skip Monday.

Join Crotti’s On Ash, igourmet Foods and Nawrocki Imports at this month’s installment of the Menu, where our focus will be on cheese and wine! Crotti’s will prepare one of their signature grilled cheeses and classic tomato soup as well as some delicious antipasto and crostini! Our friends from igourmet will be there to tell us all about the delicious cheeses used, and our friends from Nawrocki will tell us about wines will pair best!

Menu includes:

  • Joe’s Homemade Tomato soup, made with fresh, whole peeled tomatoes
  • Crotti Family Antipasto, featuring a mix of Sicilian style vegetables
  • Doc’s Crostini Bites, topped with tomato soup, mozzarella, basil and parm
  • Bacon Bourbon Grilled Cheese, made with hopscotch cheddar, sauerkraut, bacon and spicy mustard
  • *All breads used are from Delightful Bakery, which are baked fresh, contain no preservatives and are fortified with vitamins.

Our classes for this Fall will include Dance, Visual Arts and Theatrical Costuming!  These programs will be offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings throughout the Fall and will be held at the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple.

Thrill the World is a global fundraising event, held on the same date/time around the world in attempt to break the World Record for the “Largest Simultaneous Dance to Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller!'” Sign up TODAY to be a zombie dancer and participate in one of the most exciting events in Scranton! All proceeds benefit the ongoing operations, restoration and programming of the Scranton Cultural Center!

Zombie Crawl:
Immediately following the official “Thriller” dance, Zombies will embark on a Zombie Crawl of downtown Scranton! Participating business will offer special zombie discounts for our participants. Follow the map provided and enjoy a fun, family-friendly night out in downtown Scranton!

Zombie Insurance:
Plan on attending the event and the Zombie Crawl, but don’t want to dance? We’ve got you covered! Purchase Zombie Insurance for a minimum donation of $10 and you will be safe from dancing with the undead! (and still receive an awesome t-shirt!)

Dance Lessons:
To make our Thrill The World event even more awesome, participants need to know HOW to dance the official Thriller dance! Bring your friends/ family to a Thriller Dance Lesson & learn the Thriller dance from our choreographer! We’ll have three BEGINNER Dance Lesson Sessions at 2-hours long, and two ADVANCED Dance Lessons at 1-hour long. So whether you’re new to TTW or an experienced veteran, we’ve got you covered!

Some of our newest Scrantonians – members of the Congolese refugee community – will create a “pop-up restaurant” sharing their home cuisine and traditions.  Authentic Congolese fare will be served including traditional pondu and fufu along with whole fish and beef kabobs, plantains and beans.  The event will also include highlights of the culture of the Democratic Republic of Congo, with special music and dance performances, and information about the refugee crisis.
