ABOUT OUR VIRTUAL SUMMER CAMPS
SummerStage Campers will develop their skills as artists and get creative with friends during these interactive, virtual sessions.  During each session, campers will participate in daily workshops based on the topic of the week. In addition to the diverse group of teaching artists, students will learn from guest artists and speakers who work as professional performers and Theatre artists. All necessary supplies for weekly projects and activities will be provided by the SCC.  Arrangements for supply pack pick-up or delivery will be made prior to the start date of each session!

Summer Camp: Little Dragon Playhouse IN PERSON Session 3

Little Dragon Playhouse: Session 3 (IN-PERSON)
It’s Raining Cats and Dogs, July 26-30

Little Dragon Campers will get creative while experiencing the performing and visual arts during this FURRY camp session! Your young performer will have a PAWsome week as we create characters, sing songs, learn choreography and create art inspired by some of our favorite household critters! This session will culminate with a special performance for friends and family!

SHOWCASE: Friday, July 30; Art show at 1 PM, Performance at 1:30 PM in Shopland Hall on the 4th Floor

Xanadu, Jr., July 12-31

Young performers won’t want to miss this TOTALLY RAD camp session!  Based on the cult-classic film and Broadway musical, Xanadu, Jr. follows the journey of a magical Greek muse, Kira, who descends from Mount Olympus to Venice Beach, CA, on a quest to inspire struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time…the first ROLLER DISCO!  (It IS the 80s, after all!)  Xanadu, Jr. is a moving, electrifying tale of endless fun that will keep audiences in stitches while the original, legendary chart-topping tunes lift them out of their seats.

TWO PERFORMANCES + STREAMING! Friday, July 30 at 7 PM, Saturday, July 31 at 11 AM on the Main Stage! This production will be available to stream after the show!

Little Dragon Playhouse Campers will develop their skills as artists and get creative with friends during these interactive, virtual sessions. During each week-long session, campers will participate in a daily arts-based workshop based on the theme of the week! Teaching artists will lead campers through games, exercises and activities in the arts areas of Theatre, Dance, Music and Visual Arts!  At the end of every exciting week, we will celebrate with a Theme Day, including games, trivia and of course, themed attire is encouraged! Upon registering and submitting payment, all participants will receive invitations and instructions for joining the virtual classes. All necessary supplies for weekly projects and activities will be provided by the SCC.  Arrangements for supply pack pick-up or delivery will be made prior to the start date of each session!

Youth Theatre Summer Camp Program presents: “Xanadu, Jr.”

The Scranton Cultural Center’s Youth Theatre Summer Camp Program will present XANADU, JR.

Xanadu JR. is inspired by the Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical and the Universal Pictures’ cult classic movie that starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly. Xanadu JR. is a moving, electrifying tale of endless fun that will keep audiences in stitches while the original, legendary chart-topping tunes lift them out of their seats.

Xanadu JR. follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California, on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time – the first Roller Disco. (Hey, it’s 1980!) But, when Kira falls into forbidden love with the mortal Sonny, her jealous sisters take advantage of the situation, and chaos abounds.

Event Seating is General Admission, First-Come, First-Served, Held in the Weinberg Theatre of the Scranton Cultural Center. The Seating chart reflects the general layout for this event, but specific seat locations are subject to change.

This event is being seated at FULL Capacity, patrons are requested to wear face-coverings while inside the venue.

TICKETS: $7.50 in Advance | $12.50 Day of Show (Includes Fees) In Person or Online/Mobile Orders
