Recently the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple and The Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, Its Territories and Canada concluded a four year contract. IATSE Local 329, which represents over 150 stage hands, electricians, riggers and other theatrical employees and the SCC have had a long standing association. The completion of the contract was hailed by both sides as a fair and equitable agreement which allows for the continued employment of the highest quality professionals while also being aware of economic conditions facing all facets of performing arts and productions. This agreement will ensure that outside promoters can bring high quality productions to the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple for years to come, while also making it possible for smaller local and not for profits to continue to utilize this regional gem.
