Volunteer Registration Form

Volunteering at the Scranton Cultural Center is easy.

It's a great way to get out and help keep this historic landmark in full operation while having a good time in the process. Our volunteers serve in a wide variety of capacities - from ushers and ticket takers at one of our many SCC, Broadway or Philharmonic performances, to assistance with our Children's Series workshop programs and to help in our administrative offices.

Volunteering takes many forms at the Center, and there's probably one that's just right for you.

And to those of you who are already members of our volunteer family, a great big Thank You for all you do to keep this building alive and vibrant!

We couldn't do it without you!

Volunteers Gather for Annual Tribute

On Sunday, August 14th, the Scranton Cultural Center saw a reversal of "roles" as the SCC staff and several members of the board played host to the volunteer corp.
You've probably seen them if you've attended an event at the SCC. These men and women, clad in red and affectionately dubbed "the Red Coats" provide thousands of volunteer hours as ushers, ticket takers, tour leaders, workshop assistants and more. They are the cheerful folk who, if they don't know and answer to your question, seek it out.
On this day, however, the volunteers were treated to an ice cream fete, served by the SCC staff and board. Over 100 of our close to 200 volunteers were in attendance. Remarks were made by Kathy Flynn in place of her husband, the late Matt Flynn, telling them how Matt had always said that "the volunteers are what make the SCC possible." John Cardoni, Acting Executive Director and Nada Gilmartin, incoming board chairperson, also echoed Kathy's remarks and thanks for all the service they provide to the Center and the public in general.
As one staff member best put it, "Without this gang, the show doesn't go on!"
